I got mad and made a thing.
Captivity is all fine and dandy.
I mean it’s not like removing animals from the wild has negative effects on the remaining population or anything.
Or directly contributes to the suffering of many animals that are kept in sub standard conditions.
I think what people tend to forget is that the majority of captive facilities ARE NOT LIKE SEAWORLD. The majority of captive cetaceans across the globe are kept in absolutely atrocious conditions. So when y’all go round saying “Captivity is fine”, you might be talking about SW or Marineland Antibes or whatever, but they are not representative of what the majority of facilities are like.
It’s time y’all realised that.
"And I began to let him go. Hour by hour. Days into months. It was a physical sensation, like letting out the string of a kite. Except that the string was coming from my center."
Augusten Burroughs, You Better Not Cry
"It’s hard to say goodbye to the place you’ve lived. It can be as hard as saying goodbye to a person."
Jonathan Safran Foer, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
"Writers end up writing about their obsessions. Things that haunt them; things they can’t forget; stories they carry in their bodies waiting to be released."
but then again, its kind like putting a meat suit on and telling a shark not to eat you
We (men) are not fucking sharks!
We are not rabid animals living off of pure instinct
We are capapble of rational thinking and understanding.
Just because someone is cooking food doesn’t mean you’re entitled to eat it.
Just because a banker is counting money doesn’t mean you’re being given free money.
Just because a person is naked doesn’t mean you’re entitled to fuck them.
You are not entitled to someone else’s body just because it’s exposed.
What is so fucking difficult about this concept?
^you sir are the best.

Ian: If for some reason you thought you didn’t have a lot of time left… If you had one day left, what would you do?
Samantha: It’s an easy answer. A no-brainer. I’d spend it with you.
"Whatever happens tomorrow, we’ve had today. I’ll always remember it."
[Dexter smiles as he listens to Emma’s voice message unaware that she has been killed after being struck by a truck whilst riding her bike]
Emma: Hey, there. Just to say I’m running late but I’m on my way and I’m sorry for being so snappy this morning. Just wanted to say you’re a fine thing Dexter Mayhew. I love you very much. Okay, there you go, lucky you.
